Broecker Farm

Went to photograph a christmas tree farm today. I wasn't expecting much from it, I mean what all can there be about cutting down a tree right? Well I got there and this man, Creighton Broecker still owns and helps run the farm, and has been doing so for 60 years. The trees behind him are ones that he planted when he first opened the tree farm in 1950, and they are huge. It was an amazing sight, and a pleasant surprise on the assignment to meet such a kind man, and see some of the work he is so proud of.

Hunting

Went and hung out with Adam and his son Andrew going on a deer hunt today. It was Andrew's first time out to get a deer, but didn't see a single deer all day. I still enjoyed myself, its great to work on a story that you enjoy, and I was beginning to lose sight of that. It was a peaceful experience, and reminded me why I enjoy hunting quite a bit. The respect that hunters have for the animal and understanding that they have for what they do is humbling to say the least.
